Hello,
I just found this site recently. It is AWESOME!

I have tried the WASC two times now. The first was horrible too dense. The second in oven now, is Macs Moms red velvet. Smells great!
I am having to bake these cakes almost double time what I usually do. Is that normal?

50 minutes for a 9x13 @325

thanx

I usually bake mine from 50 min. to an hour at 325 degrees in regular oven. If I use bake even strips sometimes I have to add 5 min. more. Hope this helps.

Yes, turning the oven down to 325 does about double the baking time... but I find that my cakes bake so much more evenly. I personally LOVE the WASC recipe. It is a little denser than a box cake recipe, but everyone seems to love it. ..And it being a little denser makes it easier to tort and carve IMO
