Hi CC, I have a wedding cake to do in Dec and the cakes are squared as well as the cupcakes........I went to order one from EBAY but the one I need which is like a 7 or 8 teir ( for 175 ppl) won't ship to the US!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen plenty of Round one's but that's not what I need as well some other sites that I have checked want to charge like $89.00 or $99.00 an higher, an THAT'S JUST NOT IN THE BUDGET........so if you all can help I would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT; I'm in the price range of anything under $80.00 total including shipping an handling. Hi Nesha

Do what I do. Make your own. I but cake boards in the size I need and use cake styros in the size I need in between each layer. For example I just did a round CC wedding. I used 24' board on bottom, then a 10" sytro, then 18 board, then a 10' styro and on up.
I dowel evey layer together and it cann't bne seen. I can also cover the board in any color paper I want.

I have made a square cupcake stand by flattening out the cups on a round......before you put them back together...get foamboard cut to size and place on top of each tier...I covered the edges with ribbon... attached with hot glue...I also covered the posts with ribbon and small artificial flowers...I also spray painted the metal white...

I have seen some made with cake dummies and pipe. They look really nice.
Go to flickr.com and search for cocoa and fig. They do an awesome job with their stands!

To bad you are almost 5 hours away from me. My father in law made an gorgeous square stand for me. Im sure I could have bribed him into making one for 80.00. I will post a picture in my photos of it.

Here on CC Antonia74 gave wonderful instructions for a 4 tier square cupcake/cake stand. My dad made it for me and it cost $40 (wood, nails, paint). It is heavy but beautiful and can be reused over and over again. You could make one and add squares depending on how many levels you need.

Here is the CC link to her instructions:

I will second the vote for cupcaketree.com. I just ordered their small round for a wedding next month. prices are reasonable and it came in two days. You just need to decorate with a little ribbon. very simple and easy. and since its cardboard you don't need to worry about getting a deposit from the bride to have your stand returned. I just built it into the price of her overall order.

I bought onr for $15.00 and it was made out of styrofoam. It was 4 different sizes a thin rouund and thick rounds in the middle. They were wrapped/glued with fabric and pinned on the side with pearl pins, it looked very nice.

emcm51,
Thank you. I was pleased with the results. I was looking for an acrylic stand, but they were too expensive. Necessity is the mother of invention.
If you use Michael's coupons over several visits (and/or bring a friend), you can get the frames and trinket boxes relatively inexpensively. The frames come in all sizes. The stand is held together with hot glue, and can be taken apart because you can peel off the hot glue. Make sure to put enough support in the center to hold the weight.

My husband and I are in the process of making one to fit 100-150 cupcakes (5 tiers) that could easily be altered to fit the number of cupcakes you are wanting by adding a larger tier. We are modeling it after one that I saw on www.etsy.com, search cupcake stands. The wood was less than $20 and we have enough left over to make a whole other stand! It's not going to cost much more to buy everything to decorate it either. They also sell a larger one and I think it's less than $50. You have to buy everything to decorate it, but it's an option. Take a look. Good luck!

Etsy has a section were you can put in your request and then people who sell there will answer with their price, they take and make custom orders, a friend of mine had an awesome acrylic CC stand made for her wedding last year and it was right around $90
