Hello, its the 15 year old again icon_smile.gif
Today two of my friends in my math class told me they were having a big sweet 16 together and had a cake budget of 200-300 dollars in mind. This will definitely be the biggest one i've ever made, and i told them i'd get some ideas together over the weekend. I'm thinking at least three tiers. ALSO, i need a cheap place to get the topsy turvy pan set. Ideas?

There was a post here about the topsy curvy cake pans and someone said that they wouldn't recommend using the pans since the batter would not bake evenly. Maybe someone else can give you better advice

I would just recomend using regular cake pans and then carving the cakes. I am in the middle of a topsy turvy cake right now and that's what I have done. There are some really good videos on youtube.

Somewhere and I can't remember where someone posted directions on the "crooked cake" I copies it to a file but it is hard to read. Maybe the person who posted it will see this and send you to that post.

Good luck.

I found it. Go to the forum "How do I" It is the 3rd one down "sticky" post. This should help.

Topsy turvy cakes are so much fun! I've used the method on the tutorial mentioned by letsgetcaking. It worked great! A good support system is very important if you are going to transport it. Good luck! I know you will do great.
