Super Vent!!!

Ok, so I made an appointment with a bride to come to my home office... she shows up an hour early!!! I was totally unprepared, didn't have time to check her email for the list of flavours she wanted to try as she was already sitting in my office and I was naked in the bathroom about to jump in the shower when the door bell rang! Ok, so I pulled myself together, got her some samples of whatever I had on hand and walked her through the consultaion. Then this @#$%$ emails me this morning telling me she can't work with me because I'm so unprofessional!! She said I wasn't ready for our meeting and she was worried I wouldn't be on time to the wedding!!!?!?!?! Are you kidding me?!?!? I'm so PO I feel to respond to her email with a string of profanities!! So, like what is she going to do, show up at her receptioon venue the night before and freak out that the food hasn't been cooked yet!!!?!?!?!? GGRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrr....... ok... I feel better now... thanks for listening!!! lol...

Sounds like you are better off without her as a customer. Who does that?

may i ask Why on earth did you answer to door???


Maybe she simply had the wrong time. Cause usually it seems like people are always running late and not giving a shit about your time.

I agree. Sounds like wouldn't want to work with her anyways. Like she would show up at your house for a health inspection! Or want to watch you bake to make sure you stir the batter clock wise, and not counter clockwise!!

I wouldn't have opened my door either. Just a suggestion, maybe you can stress your time. I really stress punctuality and only 3 people allowed. I stress this and let them know that if their is deviation from the time they will not be seen. I also let them know if any extra people show up, they will be asked to wait outside. I let them know in a very apolgetic manner that I hate to have to do these things, but it's neccessary. So far no problems. An hour early, wow!

I would probably email her and let her know that you regret that she won't be using you for her wedding cake and let her also know that you were taken aback at her showing up an hr. early and that's what had you a little unprepared. (I usually have my samples ready to go the night before just in case something like this happens though, waiting until an hr. before hand to make samples? that's asking for problems)

But again, I tend to agree with the others...this probably isn't someone you'd want to have a working relationship with anyhow!

I agree you are better off without her order. I do understand your frustration and anger about her comments though. Did she even acknowledge that she was an hour early? Did you explain to her that it was her fault that you were unprepared?

This is probably the same idiot who showed up at my house early, then was insulted that I didn't walk out to her car at her appointment time (she was sitting in the car and I had no idea she was there) to escort her into the house. I got two nasty emails, one from her and one from her mother, who hadn't even come that day, but who was very eager to tell me how unprofessional I was. icon_confused.gif

Be glad that she isn't hiring you, and don't open the door next time!
