I was wondering how to make a camo print on fondant without painting it on. Also, if any of you have made an army tank and have any advice or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

you can always airbrush the camo pattern.

You could tint your fondant the basic background color of the cammo, then tint more fondant the other colors. Cut out random pieces and lay them on top of the rolled out background color and then roll it with a rolling pin to cause it to meld together and become a sheet of cammo print.

I'd practice on a smaller piece to see how it works since you won't be able to re-roll the fondant without muddying the colors.

I've used this technique to make fall leaves with changing colors.

Good luck

I did what Cookie45 said with the fondant. I could've done better with the colors, though.
I pressed a tip 3 in the fondant to make the "rivets"

Camo print...sounds easy enough, but I can never get it to look right the best I can do is air brush it!

I think you did a great job!! I'm always harder on myself because what's in my head never translates perfectly to the product.

I tinted different colors of fondant, broke off small pieces and set side by side (randomly), then rolled them together. Check my pics for the Lego Army cake. I will try to attach a picture of what I did.

The add an attachment did not work for me (usually doesn't!). Try this link:

I do it the same as pursuing perfection does. I think it's best, as is showed, that you roll on some type of mat and then use that to flip it over onto the cake.
