My best friend is in love with elephants, so I'm trying to make her an elephant themed cake. I'm thinking of modelling an elephant figure for the top of the cake and then cutting out little elephants from fondant and put them lined up holding eachothers's tails around the side of the cake (its going to be a 10 inch round, one layer)

I'm pretty new to baking, but I seem to have a natural grasp on the decorating part. Does anyone have any tips/ tricks that could make my life a little bit easier? anyone know a link with elephant related tips?

Check aine2's website, there's a tutorial on how to make an elephant, all you need is to position the elephant how you want it and possibly make the trunk longer for your design. Just google aine2.

Does she still have this tutorial? I could not find it! icon_cry.gif I've been trying to get an elephant to look right for a cake due tomorrow! Hopefully I will have some success tonight!

The final picture of that elephant is priceless! He has a cute little bee on his nose and the flowers in his hand. Too cute! Thanks for sharing!

Actually since the subject of elephants has come up, I'm looking for an elephant made of metal so I can make my own elephant mold -- Kerry Vincent has that in her book and I don't have a clue where to buy an elephant figurine. Any suggestions?
