Wilton fondant is nasty stuff. Try Satin Ice, it tastes like marshmallows!

I only use Wilton Fondant for practicing. I think it has a terrible taste and texture. I only use Satin Ice Fondant. It tastes fantastic, so smooth to work with! I work with the Chocolate alot and it tastes like a tootsie roll. HUGE selling point! I also prefer it because I can purchased it precolored in tons of colors. I would still like them to add a good orange to the collection....I'm sure they are working on it.

I love that I can depend on the color and its quality. Batch after Batch. I've used it for years and have never been frustrated or disappointed. And no, I'm not in any way affiliated with the Satin Ice Fine Foods corp., Just a very happy customer!

I use Wilton to cover boards - tastes terrible! I have used Satin Ice, but after Nicholas Lodge introduced me to Massa Americana, I'll never go back. It is the BEST ever! Very easy to work with. It may seem a little pricey, but you are able to roll it so thin that it goes a long way. I've had people who say they hate fondant, but once they try the Massa, they quickly change their minds.

The Wilton fondant is okay if you flavor it with candy flavoring. I personally don't care what you do to it, I don't like the taste or texture and it doesn't matter what kind.

I use MMF for accents and Fondx for covering the cakes. Fondx tastes great and is easy to work with.

I tried Pettinice(Bakels) recently, it wasn't too bad but left an aftertaste. Has anyone compared that to Satin Ice? I also tried Fondarific which I liked the best so far....it's still not as nice as Michele Foster's Fondant. But I'm sick of making fondant....I'm with Ally and just using MMF for decorations and buying fondant to cover cakes.

I really like "Satin Ice". It's very easy to work with. I've also used "Fondarifiic" as well and I have to say that it is the best tasting fondant by far (IMO). icon_smile.gif
