Hydrangea Cake? Does Anyone Have Pictures?

I'm making a birthday cake for a friend who loves hydrangeas and looking for ideas? I want to do the flowers from icing or fondant, not fresh. I think this should be a fairly simple cake to do but I'm just drawing a blank on this one!
I think my brain is just burnt out LOL We've just been through an across the country move, I haven't done any cakes since last spring, and I know I'm being lazy (at least I'm honest, right?!) ......so knowing that, is anyone willing to share their creations?! If so, thank you in advance!
here's one I had saved for a "wanna do someday" cake

Here's one I did w/ buttercream. Whimsical Bakehouse's website use to have a tutorial on how to make the hydrangea & i'm sure they still do. I would post the link, but my computer is REALLY slow right now.

KHalstead, thank you for your compliment. I was dreading that cake b/c I'm not good w/ buttercream/RI flowers. But after practicing on a dummy for a bit it came pretty easy. The inspiration came from a pic I found from a NY bakery but theirs was 100% prettier
not sure how it could be ANY prettier..........it looks gorgeous. I'm thinkin if I try it you'd have to use a whipped icing or something....that would be overpowering with my sweet buttercream! lol
Oh wow, I'm so baaad! I bumped up my thread to get a quick response, then didn't have the common courtesy to thank you all quickly, I'm SO sorry!!!
The cakes you all posted were beautiful! I ended up with a somewhat 'vintage' look and I was pleased with it. I tinted my bc ivory and made my bow a vintage pale turqouise/blue. I searched all over for a nice piece of estate jewelry to add to the center and ended up using a button I found at Walmart of all places!
I had trouble with my impression mat, it was the first time I used it. It left big wide lines in the bc instead of the nice crisp ones I've seen on other cakes. I wasn't very impressed! Maybe I just didn't get a good one?
Anyway, thank you all again for your quick responses and please forgive me for my bad manners!
PS I tried to all the picture here but it's too big and I need to size it down. If anyone wants to see it it's in the galleries as a recent upload.
