I have a request for a black light cake. No not one shaped like a black light but one that will react to a black light that isn't just white icing... Any ideas??

Yes. You can add Tonic Water to the BC-- it will glow under a blacklight since Tonic Water contains quinine, which reacts to a blacklight. Also of course this route is nontoxic.

I am not sure however which color bc works best or how much is required to produce a good glow. What I am sure of though is that a blacklight must be shining on the cake to make it glow.

do a search for glow in the dark cake. I remember there being a picture in the gallery of a cake that a decorator did get it to glow.

what is quinine? and tonic water and where do you get it from? I think the whole party will be a black light them and prob. done all in black lights so the cake should glow.

You can usually find Tonic Water at the grocery store in the area where they display Gingerale and other drink mixers.
