I have a request for a black light cake. No not one shaped like a black light but one that will react to a black light that isn't just white icing... Any ideas??

Quinine water added to piping gel lights up under a blacklight. Its what Mary Maur from Cake Girls used in a challenge.

Yes. You can add Tonic Water to the BC-- it will glow under a blacklight since Tonic Water contains quinine, which reacts to a blacklight. Also of course this route is nontoxic.

I am not sure however which color bc works best or how much is required to produce a good glow. What I am sure of though is that a blacklight must be shining on the cake to make it glow.

do a search for glow in the dark cake. I remember there being a picture in the gallery of a cake that a decorator did get it to glow.

I don't remember the poster's name, but I do remember the cake. The decorator detailed how she achieved the cake to glow.

You can usually find Tonic Water at the grocery store in the area where they display Gingerale and other drink mixers.
