Hi!

I purchased an impression mat and would like to use it to design nfsc. The package says I can use buttercream and fondant. Question is, can i use it on royal icing too? I'd like to use Antonia's royal icing but i'm not sure if i can use an impression mat on it.

Help!

Thanks for your help guys!

Hmmmm. I think the window to use them would be very small. The thing is once RI crusts over enough to be able to use it you run the risk of cracking the icing. Maybe some one has used them w/ success & can help you more.

You can use rolled buttercream or marshmallow rolled buttercream & use the mat. With the MRBC it's not as greasy & I just LOVE it.

I wouldn't use the impression mat on RI. When it is soft the impressions will dissappear and once it has set you will have cracks. But they do work great on fondant, gumpaste, pastillage, and modeling chocolate.hth
