My image printer (Canon ip3500) will not print right. I have cleaned and deep cleaned, steam cleaned...everything! I have also tried to align my printhead several times and still I still have nice long streaks through my pictures. I have a cake due for a friend on SATURDAY! I am so terrified that I'm going to mess this up.
All of my problems started when I tried to refill my ink cartridges...nothing but problems. At first I couldn't print at all I even ordered new cartridges and had them overnighted...now I get prints, but they look TERRIBLE! I have no idea what I should try next. My cakes are baked and ready to be iced. But I have no photos to put on them (I have a total of 12 pictures (4 on each of 3 tiers). The one bakery I called charges $16 per sheet to print out the images. I will be TOO upset if that's what I have to wind up doing. Does anyone have any ideas for me. I am soooo worried and upset. Trying not to cry...
Any help or advice is welcome! Thanks in advance.

I have a cannon too and have had to replace the printhead twice, it kept burning out. My authorized cannon repair guy says it happens a lot with the edible ink. The printhead is about $50 but it was covered under warranty. If yours is still under warranty, call canon. I got my printhead the next day from them. The second time it happened, I got it from the repair guy, free because I had the extended warranty. Good luck
Thanks for your reply pattycakes...I didn't want to have to buy a new printhead (I saw some online for around $75 and I don't think I paid that much for the printer brand new!
I'm happy to say that after a long evening of frustration and wasted paper (thankfully just plain paper, not icing sheets), I finally got them to print. The problem turned out to be the paper type that I had selected. I had to print using Photo Paper Pro on High print quality. Nothing else worked for me including the other photo paper options. I am sooooo thankful that this part is over and done with.
Still making a mental note not to mess with refilling ink again. It as WAY too much hassle and my printer never would accept the refilled cartridges.
I also bought a canon 350. Within a month it was clogged. I steam cleaned it and cleaned it through the maintenance used up all the in k and clogged again. I've had an epson for a year thanks to fiddlesticks and haven't had a problem since.
