My daughter wants strawberry flavored cupcakes for her birthday. I usually us the WASC recipe for my cakes and cupcakes. But I'm not sure how to make it strawberry flavored. Can someone please give me some ideas? TIA

I don't use the actual WASC recipe, but an extender that is similar. Where my recipe calls for 1 1/3 cup water, I substitute about 3/4 to one cup of it with liquid strawberry daquiri / margarita mix--the kind in the bottle, not frozen. I also add some Lorann strawberry flavoring (about 1/2 of a small vial). It comes out very good for me.

I get the frozen strawberries and blend them at room temperature, strain and substitute for water, use the blended strawberry yogurt and it is real good. I want to try the daquiri mix. I see they have a frozen daquiri. Will experiment.

Strawberry icecream topping in place of liquid works well.

I've done this on numerous occasions using the WASC version. I use a Strawberry cake mix instead and use strawberry extract as the flavoring. very tasty. I've even crush strawberries and fold intot he batter also.

I have a 1 year old and a 5 year old and they loveeeee it! lol...

Here's a WASC cake recipe that has a strawberry variation:

Start by using DH strawberry cake mix and add any of the following: strawberry jello, strawberry yogurt, strawberry extract, strawberry nectar, or frozen strawberries.

Can also add icing fruit:

Thank you all for your sugestions. I can't wait to try them. I really like the idea of using strawberry daquiri mix, since it is non dairy.
