This morning I watched Tonedna's, (our very own Edna De la Cruz @ www.Designmeacake.com), new Stargazer Lily DVD and just had to tell you all how wonderful the dvd is!
I think what impresses me the most is Edna does a superb job of speaking and teaching to the entire audience, whether you are a beginner having never made a sugar flower before, or an advanced artists wanting to learn a new flower! If I had never made a sugar flower before this would be the dvd I would want to have in order to learn how to make this gorgeous Stargazer Lily and literally bring in to life as Edna so perfectly does!!
If you are even thinking about learning sugar flowers you need to seriously consider getting this one!
Edna explains everything from the difference in luster/petal/pearl dusts, the various brushes to use for dusting and painting on gumpaste, each and every tool she uses, the board she uses and why she prefers this particular board, and so much more!
IMO the value is excellent too! You get over 2 hours of professional teaching here and you don't have to go anywhere to learn it! I love it!!!
I could go on and on!!!!
My only hope now is for her to make more, lots more of these individual flower tutorials!
Edna, if you read this I hope you will fill us in on any future plans you may have for making more sugar flower dvd's! you can not tease us with just this one awesome dvd! That is like dangling a carrot in front of a starving horse!!
Thank you so much for such an awesome lesson in making your gorgeous Stargazer Lily!! I can hardly wait to get one made! You rock!!!
I also posted a thread on this, but it never surfaced, I don't know what happened to it, any way I am still waiting on my DvD, it is probably in my mailbox ,as we speak, I agree with you totally, and hope to keep this thread alive so other interested parties can get the info, yes thanks Edna, and I also cannot wait for more sugar flowers dvd, this is going to be my first time making a sugar flower
( That is like dangling a carrot in front of a starving horse!! )
You are to Funny LOL when i read that part i pictured my self wanting that carrot. and busted out laughing noticing what i just did.
I do agree with you about Edna videos she is very detailed in her videos and explain things very well. Once I get a chance I will be buying her video. And when I go down to Orlando to visit my family I hope I get a chance to stop by her shop and say Hello.
Shaddi
Thank you so much for sharing this info. I hadn't realized she came out with a video. I also hope she contunues. Her work is fabulous!! I have been looking for a great tutorial specifically on this flower. Yippy!!!
I also have to Say that if Edna has any extra time, if she can do a video on how to apply Make-Up. I would love to do my Make-Up like she does but i don't know how.
I'll be waiting and looking for that video as well when it comes out. "Hint Hint Edna" LOL
Shaddi
Uniqueask......I hope it is in your mailbox today! You are going to want to make one right away and she does such an excellent job teaching the flower and much more! She also teaches how to make a "Fantasy" lily at the end!
SHADDI.......LOL....you are funny too! That carrot is going to stay there until she comes out with another gorgeous flower dvd!!
Well if Edna put together a dvd it has to be Awesome !
All of her work is just flawless!
If that DVD is anywhere near as good as her tutorials on Youtube, then it has to be fabulous.
I'm glad the beautiful Edna has decided to sell DVDs. We have profited so much from her free YouTube tutorials - now it's her turn to profit! Yay!
I love DVDs that teach our art - I'm carrying all five of Sharon Zambito's with me in a tote, watching them in fits and starts at lunch at work and after dinner on my laptop.
If that DVD is anywhere near as good as her tutorials on Youtube, then it has to be fabulous.
Believe it or not, it is even better than the Youtube vids! She EVEN outdid herself this time!!!
Grandmom, you make a very good point! Edna has "shown" all of us so much without hesitation! She does deserve some return from us now, I agree!
I too have Sharon's dvd.......except the last one which is on my "to get" list.
oh wow..Im speechless...Thanks for the wonderful comments.. thanks teekakes, Im so glad you liked it!
Now,. the reason why I came with the DVD is cause I cant fit all the information of
the sugar flowers in a 10 minute tutorial in youtube. So many people kept asking for more flowers, and even though I did the calla and the rose for youtube I had to cut so much information out of them and then piece it in segments I was not totally happy with them. But I have to say people that dont have access to much materials, love the
youtube tutorials.
So I did this one using cutters that are accesible. So people wouldnt have a hard time
finding cutters for it. I do want to do more flowers. So until the next one my little shop
has one DVD. I just wanted it easy enough so beginners could start playing with gumpaste. And in addition I did it in chapters so people dont have to fuzz through all the video looking for a specific part. Eventually I want to do a full edition in roses and callas DVD.
Im still getting used to doing all this shipping and handling stuff! But Im happy with the reactions I been getting.
I will keep doing my tutorials in youtube. I love to teach, what kind I say. But then again, my main job is doing Wedding Cakes. So one step at a time. And hopefully with time all with get done.
Makeup tutorials...well...mmmmm..lol..that would be funny..
She's amazing in every single way! I had no idea she was putting a dvd together. YAY!!!! Can't wait to order it!
so excited, I just ordered the dvd, Edna, always helped me when I asked.

Hi Chilz..........It will be monday or tuesday before I can make one. I ordered the little Stamen mold from GSA this morning early. They already sent me a shipping notification so my pkg should be here by tuesday at the latest. I will be making one as soon as I have that little mold in my hand and will post a picture of it!
Editing to say here is the link to the mold I ordered to do the stamens;
http://www.globalsugarart.com/search.php?search=19037+&searchimage.x=42&searchimage.y=12
You will need this mold unless you want to shape by hand. I'm not good at shaping tiny little things such as these!
Hi Teekakes, I just got mine in the mail, I am very excited to watch it, Unfortunetaly I did not buy the veiner at the time, did not have enough money, but I will get it next week I will also the the mold for the stamens next week thanks for the link, can't wait to see your flowers

Uniqueask, can you send me Gemini's ordering link? I love her 3d cookies and didn't get to get it from her before she left...
I am expecting to see those flowers!!!.. I love the multi-stamen mold. But no excuses!..I taught how to them without it!..
Edna

Edna
Yes you sure do teach how to do them without the mold! But my big old fingers don't do so well with the little tiny things like your talented little digits do!
All you young amble fingered little ladies can make all those little tiny things all day long.....but give me the mold!
I've attempted to place an order for the DVD. Is the veiner also available on this site?
