There is a guy I work with who was in a really bad car accident over labor day weekend. He was hit by a drunk driver leaving work and doctors sayd there is a 99% chance he will never walk again! He is only 22 years old! It is really sad, so we are having a bake sale at work to help raise money for him. Im not sure if this is the forum I should be posting in but I just need some VERY simple cupcake ideas. I was thinking something fall-ish but I dont decorate cupcakes very often so Im kinda stuck on what to do. I also need it to be simple but cute, I have very little time to do these cupcakes so any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated! TIA for any help!

Hi

Jammjenks make a very pretty rose that is very quick. Use a 2D tip and start a spiral from the inside out. Add a leaf and some fall candy sprinkles from Michaels and you're good to go. I did something like that for my St. Valentine's Day cupcakes. The pix aren't the greatest. I would try to search for jammjenks to see her photo.

Best Wishes!

Firstly - so sorry to hear about your friend being so tragically injured... icon_sad.gif
How lovely that work mates rally together and raise fund to support him - thumbs_up.gif

When you say *fall* i guess you are meaning Fall as in the Season - yes - where all the leaves fall off the trees ????

Our season is called Autunm = Fall.

If that is the case - could you not colour some fondant and decorate each little cuppie with rustic colour leaves - with a few tumbling over the edge?

Someone has probabley got a better idea - but thats all i can come up with at the moment -

Thanks for the ideas! Aquamom- I am definitely going to look at jammjenks photos but I dont think I have the 2D tip! =[

And bluehue thank you very much, you are always so helpful! I thought of the same idea but I was just trying to avoid using fondant if I could. I have to make a cake friday night for a friend at works birthday and these cupcakes on the same night! And I have to make more saturday night for sunday and I have a million other things Im doing saturday including working! I have a very long weekend ahead of me!! Thank you both for the wonderful ideas!!

So sorry to hear about your co-worker...my thoughts and prayers go out to him.

Sounds like a pretty busy week for you...I'd stick with a simple swirl - either a large round tip or something like the 1M....then decorate with some fall sprinkles....I found some great fall leaf sprinkles at a local store...maybe there's something like it near you? A pretty swirl does wonders on a cupcake icon_smile.gif

So sorry about your friend.
Another idea is color some fondant in fall colors for the tops then get some leaf confetti from wilton for the tops.

I am so sorry this has happened, and so impressed that you are all pulling together to help him!!

How about doing the cupcakes in my avatar, they are also in my pics with the instructions....very easy to do!! You can use Fall flavors like pumpkin, spice, carrot, and then decorate accordingly. Since this is to help someone, I know Starbucks will give you the cups. You just might have to go to a couple store if one doesn't have enough in stock. People go absolutely crazy for these cupcakes, and seriously they are VERY easy! Plus all they need to do is grab a spoon to eat them. If you put the cuppies in a cello bag and tie with a ribbon you can just put a plastic spoon in the ribbon. If you have any questions I would love to be able to help, just let me know.

edited to add: ask for the short (6 oz or sample size cups)

Hi Kaiah723 -

I'm so sorry about your coworker. That is horrible!

I do these flower cupcakes a lot. Super easy. Please take a look at my pictures and you will see them.

If you go to the Culinary Institue of America Website you will find a video there for doing this. You can use any size tip (Rose Petal Tip).

These are super easy!!!!

I like the idea of the fall themed sprinkles- michaels will be full of them now!

I also saw this idea which would be pretty easy to do-

I am sorry to hear of this tragedy- My aunt and uncle were killed by drunk drivers, and i really hope the laws get stricter so that crap like this stops happening!

Anyway, you are doing a great thing- be sure to post pics!!!

How about putting 2 or 3 fall colors of icing into 1 bag and pipe out a swirl......That would look really cute. i would also go to your local store and maybe find some candies in fall colors and place them on top of the iced cupcakes. thumbs_up.gif
Good luck on the bake sale!
