Thank you for the kind words. I do plan on raising my prices, especially after learning so much from this site.

I made my own stencil from a pic, traced it on the cake and then filled. The signature was a bit difficult. I can't tell you many times I pulled it off of the cake and redid it. icon_redface.gif

icon_redface.gif I guess that I am guilty of completing with Wallyworld and the supermarkets.

I usually charge 25.00 for a 9x13 single layer cake with normal decorating. I add on to the price for more details. Your cake is beautiful! I think 30.00-40.00 would be a fair price. icon_smile.gif

Becca0926: Generally, I will print out the pics, make a stencil of them, transfer to the cake and then fill with frosting.

Actually I print the picture on a sturdy piece of paper, a little thicker than copy paper, (I have actually used just regular copy paper also but the stencil is generally ruined after one use), and then I take an Exacto knife or razor blade and cut out the details that I want to show on the cake. I then place the stencil on the cake and use a needle to lightly "draw" the picture into the frosting after it has crusted. I use a needle because it is much smaller than a toothpick. Then just fill in with icing.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement!

I definiately need to raise my prices icon_lol.gif
