My MMF is quite soft, and I need to make a fondant bow. What should I mix with it to make it harden better? Gumpaste? Tylose? I don't want droopy bow loops!
Thanks!!
Cheryl
Either tylose powder or gumpaste would work. Just knead it in, then make the bow. It should harden in a day or two.
just add some gumpaste and set it out to harden. I add quite a bit so the texture changes almost immediately. i set it on the table in front of a small fan overnight and it is mostly hard in the morning. DON"T try the oven light method posted somewhere on cake central for hardening faster. It may work on Fondant but it turned my MMF into a puffy toasted marsmallow!
Tylose, gumpaste or gum-tex. The more you add, the harder it will dry. I have tried all three. My preferences are in order. I only like tylose better than gumpaste because I usually have to add more color if I use gumpaste.
