I made this fun cake for my friend's 30th birthday. We had a get together party planned at a restaurant/bar and everyone was so excited (especially since almost all of us have young kids and NEVER seem to get out of the house) LOL Anyway, I just finished the cake last night and 2 hours later I get an email from her saying her kids are both sick and running fevers so we're going to have to cancel the party. icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif So all my hard work was for nothing. thumbsdown.gif

aw id be gutted too! any chance of doing it another night (even a downscaled in someones house version), cause the cake would probably keep a few days.
the cake does look great though, especially love the bra!
xx

What a bummer! The cake is really cute though-can you just take it to her as a b-day gift? You don't want it to go to waste.

Yeah, I'm going to take it to her. Today is her birthday and really, with 2 sick kids at home she does need SUPPORT. So, I guess the cake is pretty appropriate.....

Yeah, give it to her anyway, sounds like she could do with some sugar support! The cake is fantabulous - how did you do the bra?

I love the cake. I'm sure it will put a big smile on her face despite her sick kids. thumbs_up.gif

The bra is made from gumpaste, wrapped the "cups" around a big wine glass. icon_wink.gif

Thanks everyone! I did end up bringing it to her house and she loved it!!! (it definitely made her laugh during a stressful time) And she called me yesterday and said she probably gained 400 pounds this past weekend b/c its all she ate (breakfast, lunch and dinner). icon_wink.gif

I bet we've all had that kind of weekend at one time or another! Nothing but cake to eat.

Hey, look on the bright side. You can still give your friend her cake, and on the plus side you also got to share with all of us. Thank you so much for the wine glass tip. I have a over-the-hill cake coming up soon. I just might have to use that idea. Thanks again for sharing.

What a wonderful cake! You are truly talented. I'm sure you friend will enjoy all the hard work you put into this cake. I would them both( the cake and the thought with two sick kids)

Like the wine glass tip icon_smile.gif
