I agree ... that is a bit harsh Miss Cathcart. I don't think she was playing anything. She was just asking for input on what she should buy.

I think the OP was just saying why she wanted to splurge. She lives with a lot of demand on her. Being a single mom is one of them. I didn't hear any "Woes is Me" in her statements. I've been a single Mom before. We tend to put a WHOLE lot of other things first before any of our small needs. Girl I say you better run & go spend that money on some "What ever makes you happy"! thumbs_up.gif ...oh yeah, I'm with the tappets (sp?) and an airbrush machine...and a biggger stand mixer icon_biggrin.gif

If I had spare $ floating around, I'd buy a 20 qt mixer!!! Oh how that would make my cake-making life easier. Or a spare fridge just for my cake stuff. If you make lots of cake with fondant, it's nice to splurge on the Satin Ice colored fondants (especially red and black.) I love my airbrush, but that would definitely fall below a 20 qt mixer. And one thing I would LOVE to have would be a speed rack!

So I say, get a speed rack, and apply the rest towards a good used 20 qt mixer. But that's just me.

For something small, the little clay gun for $25 makes life a lot easier too.

You need to mind your own business and keep your comments to yourself. You have no right to make any comments towards me. I have NEVER in my 5 years of being a single mom complained or wanted sympathy. I love being a single mom and I would not in a million years have it any other way. I'm extremely independent and I dont' need help from anyone else. Unlike some people, I can not stand drama so I would appreciate it if you would just refrain from posting anything to me or in my posts. Keep your drama to yourself please.

Yay! You tell her TheBlonde! MissCathcart is just bitter.. Likes to get on here and say nasty things to people. I would like her to post some pics of her cakes and see how "wonderful" she really is. Block her! That's what I did.. Besides I read your post.. I didn't see any victim card being pulled out of anywhere. icon_smile.gif

I am with every one else that said put it toward your credit card debt. Figure out how much interest you are paying each month, then figures how many of the monthly payments the $750 would pay. When you do that, multiply the number of payment times the interest and you will see that not only will your debt be $750 less, but you saved X amount of dollars in interest. I'll bet it is a lot.

How awful that someone asked for shoppin suggestions and others took that as an opportunity to judge and lecture!

I can't imagine if I asked someone what they thought of some baby names I had chosen (I'm PG) and instead they took it as an opportunity to tell me why I shouldn't be having a baby to begin with. Just because someone asks a question about a topic in general, doesn't mean you have the right to turn it into a personal attack.

My suggestions:

Basic tools for whatever area interests you most (gumpaste flowers? petit fours?) and lots of videos or classes.

*shakin my head* I didn't realize that the OP asked anyone whether she should put it towards her debt or splurge. That is HER decision and if she wanted lectures, she could have gone to my mother! icon_sad.gificon_sad.gificon_sad.gif Shame on you for making her feel guilty for rewarding herself for all of the work that she does!

Just goes to show you, never divulge more info than necessary because it can be used against you (one reason I don't talk to my mom anymore!)

What would I buy? Well, my DH just gave me a nice bday present and I have used it towards candy boxes, chocolate transfers, and textured rolling pins. I would LOVE to get more flower cutters and videos or just use it to take some classes (IF I could get a babysitter).

Have fun deciding! I just looked at that agbay - WOW - that would be cool, but have a problem mentally spending that kind of $ on it. ENJOY!!! And let us know what you decided on!
