Christopher Garren's Fondant Rope Maker?
Decorating By dacakeldy Updated 10 Sep 2009 , 8:05pm by onlymadaresane
The other night I was watching Amazing Wedding Cakes and I noticed Christopher Garren using a small hand crank rope maker to make long ropes of fondant. Does anyone know what the official name of the crank and where to get one?
Thanks

I didn't see the show, but could it be a Makins extruder? Was it bright green?
If that was it, they've got it at Hobby Lobby for about $25.
didn't see it but could it maybe be like a sausage stuffer, the hand crank kind not the electric ones. I had one years ago and there are different hole size for it. hth
I saw the show...it was Makins Extruder.
My daughter said " MOM you use that thing!!"
She hates cleaning it out for me! You can find it Hobby Lobby in the clay section.
It was a Makins extruder - they sell it in the Clay department at Michaels.
I was a little surprised to see such an accomplished baker using something I use!!

I just take mine apart and put all the pieces in a cup of hot water and let them sit a while. When you get them out, all you have to do is rinse
But you're lucky you have a daughter old enough to wash dishes for you I can't wait until mine get tall enough!!!
It is the Makins T- extruder, it is green. My Michaels doesn't sell it - but they sell the extra parts for it. I LOVE mine! I got it a cakeconnection . com
I hear a lot about this show!! Someone enlighten me the details on when it's on!?! What station!?! I'm dying here!!
It's on Sunday nights at 8 on We TV. I wonder if it's on Hulu or some other website for people who don't get We? I think they are running episodes all day this Sunday...maybe I can catch the one's I missed!
