I am so excited!!! My husband had me come outside and he has a sheeter sitting on a dolly. I don't even know what to do. I should start making something... maybe a heart shaped cake covered in fondant.

It's a machine that will roll out fondant or cookie dough for you. It is adjustable in height so it can be made to any thickness that you want.

It's huge. I was wondering where I was going to put it. I'm thinking that I need to buy another stainless steel table and put it on there. It is heavy, It's got to weight over 200lbs and the dimensions are 32"x17"x29".

You're all more than welcomed to come over and give it a try. I live in Hawaii. Let me know when you'll be over and I'll pick you up from the airport. Think of it as a mini vacation with a free demo of a Somerset Sheeter.

That's what I was thinking. He loves chocolate cake with a chocolate peanut butter filling. I'm thinking that I will do a layer of chocolate with ganace on top then fill it with a whipped peanut butter filling with pieces of peanut butter cups and then the other layer with ganace on the bottom, crumb coat and cover in fondant. I've only done one cake in fondant so I'll keep my finger's crossed.

oooh oooh (waiving hand wildly!)...

This weekend I made a the chocolate WASC cake with my modified version of the peanut butter cup filling found in the recipe section. Torted the layers so I could use more filling. Covered it in white chocolate ganache then with white chocolate MFF. It was the best cake EVER - all the menfolk said so!!

Sounds yummy. I think I will give it a try. White chocolate MMF sounds better than just vanilla. That's why I love this site. Now to find all these recipes in the hundreds of recipes on my desk (sifting thru my papers...)(chocolate WASC, peanut butter filling, white chocolate ganace, and last one white chocolate MMF). Can I ask how you modified the peanut butter cup filling?

Now that I have this sheeter what fondant does everyone recommend. I have some Satin Ice, but has anyone used Fondarific or any other ones that would be good?

Now I am sad! The one time I went to Hawaii, I sniffled and cried for 7 days. Allergies I never knew I had hit 12 hours after getting off the plane, and didn't clear up till I was home again. I was 5 months pregnant, so couldn't do much about it! What a beautiful place, but I have to take the pictures!!!!

So we'll have to schedule a playdate on the mainland!

Have fun with your toy!

mysonbronson, you asked how I modified the pb filling.

When I made the peanut butter filling, I wanted to be sure it was as stable as I could get it because it takes us a while to eat a cake, plus I was testing the recipe for decorated cakes as well, which may have to sit a couple of days while you work. So I replaced the milk with a non-dairy coffee creamer/water mixture, as directed on the package for restoring the powder to liquid form. Learned this trick from Sugarshack Sharon!

I tripled the recipe because it is quite small. Even though I tripled everything, my batch came out way too runny so I had to almost double the powdered sugar. I stiffened a bowl of it even further for my dam, another thing I learned from Sugarshack Sharon. The filling is just amazingly rich and delicious!

I used MFF (Michele Foster's Fondant) and it is my all time favorite. Some folks here prefer the MMF (Marshmallow Fondant). I think they are very different recipes.

I bought a tub of Satin Ice to test, and it looked and felt and handled beautifully, but it tasted just like marshmallows. I wouldn't mind that in some cases, but don't want it in all cases. I really love the taste of MFF, especially the white chocolate version.

I have never heard of MFF. Now to do some research and give it a try. It is so expensive for me to buy Satin Ice and having it shipped to Hawaii or I should say that it cost alot of money to have anything shipped to Hawaii. I have to get all my shopping when I go to Ohio and visit my sister or when I visit my inlaws in NY. Is MFF listed in the recipes with different variations?

Right here:

http://cakecentral.com/recipes/7432/michele-fosters-updated-fondant

Good luck! The key is to let the mixture cool as indicated to lukewarm before adding the sugar, to about 98 - 105 degrees. It does have to rest several hours or overnight before rolling.

Thank you, thank you thank you. How did you make the fondant into white chocolate. Did you melt some white chocolate and add them in? Does that change the consistency? Sorry for all the questions, but I really appreciate the help.
