I have a bride that would like to duplicate the border like the one on this cake. She's not real particular and it doesn't have to be perfect. However, I would like to accomodate her request if possible. Any thoughts on the type of border it is? Tip 104 maybe? TIA

What I would use - parchment cone, cut inverted V. When piping, this makes a simple leaf. Go in two or three rounds - first is a row of middle leaves, than the upper and bottom leaves. It could need a base - simply row piped with a bigger round tip under this all.

As for real decorating tip - something like tip #355 would be needed.

It's not a great picture, but the bottom border looks like small rosebuds lined up, so yeah, I'd say a tip 103/104, just making rose buds right along the edge of he cake.

IMO - it looks like the sweet pea that is in the wilton course book. Tip 104.

I agree w/Loucinda......it;s just the base petal of a sweetpea or you could do the whole thing - whichever.

Looks like a petal tip #124 or 125 sweet pea flower border, with the side petals curved towards the center petal. HTH

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking sweet pea too. What thoughts does everyone have on the top border? Sweet pea too or something else? Sorry it's not a great pic but the bride made me a copy of a photo which I then scanned and posted.

I zoomed the picture larger to see, can't be a 100% sure, but it looks like the same sweet pea border, just with a smaller tip like maybe 101 or 102 petal tip.
