Uh...I was reading this saga.
Could you PM me the rest? I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. I also was looking forward to seeing the cake and flowers. It definately sounded like a very confusing time. They really should have had it more...I don't know what the word would be...I guess...organized? Have their stuff straight? *HUG*
I was reading it too. I'm so sorry that it happened to you...it was painful to read and I can't imagine how it felt.
I don't blame you at all for taking it down though...if you ever want to try again then it seems like it would be better not to dissect the whole thing out here for public consumption.
OK, I don't know what's going on either so I'll just say none of my business and go away. Have a nice day all.
I'm sorry guys, I wrote several posts where I explained my view of what happened at the ICES certification process this past July. They have a program that certifies you as a Master Sugar Artist.
It was a cluster f____ of rare proportion. Nothing intentional I don't think but added all together it was stunning.
Rules and expectations were loosely written and freely interpreted by all.
I was disqualified for a time--it was incredible.
I'm trying to get over it.
I wrote it all out and nothing on you guys--but no one gotta chance to respond after like 250 look sees but I had written a lot too so--while I had the chance I deleted.
It never ceases to depress me when I get into it again.
So never mind. Maybe I'll bring it up again when I'm not so freaking fragile.
Kate,
I was reading each post, but I didn't want to post and interrupt you!!! It wasn't that I didn't care or have words of sympathy. I bet others were thinking the same thing.
Judi
sorry you had a rubbish time and bad stuff happened to you, i would have responded had i seen it. hope you can find some peace and comfort at home and enjoy your weekend, be gentle on yourself x x
I hope everyone has a terrific day because mine is going to be awesome.
Even now, 8 hours after finishing my second fondant-covered cake, I've still got major cake-buzz going on!!! Can't get the smile off my face. Is it perfect? gosh no! Have I still got A LOT to learn? Oh my, yes! Did I have a great time making it? You betcha! Is it gorgeous? YAY!!!!
Just wanted to share something happy with you seasoned professionals out there: the thrill we all (I hope it's all of us) get from completing a great cake.
Kate, I'm so sorry that you had a bad experience and that you're feeling fragile. I hope it passes soon. Maybe a slice of cake would help??
Keep up the cake-buzz people!
Emma

Oh I know! Totally!
I just couldn't continue talking about it.
I totally know I was writing a freaking book~I just lost it though, y'know?
I'm a wus.
We are all here to support through difficult situations & an ear for venting. I never saw the post, but I am sorry for what happened at ICES. When ever your ready to talk again, we're here.

Yes Good Idea!~~I just became the proud possessor of some sugar free chocolate coconut clusters. mmmm
(((BIG HUG)))
I didn't see the first post of yours but I hope everything is going better for you now.
Kate - take it easy on yourself. You are always here for all of us with great advice - so here is some for you.......step away from that pain for now, and know there are folks who support you no matter what!
I'm sorry. I don't know what happened but I do know from peeking at your site that you do beautiful work and you always give the rest of us help when we need it. Hugs to you and I hope you feel better soon.
:oug, the drama teacher, who is very "pear" shaped (think dom deluise, zero mostel, alfred hitchcock), goes to the drama club's closet and rummages around::
AH HA! just what I need!
::puts on the stuff he found::
::get's lights set up and a few set pieces::
::puts karaoke CD in player::
::jumps on stage wearing a bright RED wig --very curly too!!! -- and a bright RED dress w/ a white sash::
::starts CD:: (aren't remote controls great!)
::BURSTS out in song in his bari-tenor voice:: (and trust me the seams on the dress are about "this far" from bursting too!)
"The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!
Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
'Til there's none!
When I'm stuck a day
That's gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh!
The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way!"
:oops that was supposed to be a curtsy and not a slip and fall into the orchestra pit::
Sandi -- go get help! a forklift would be nice -- oh, yah, you're no Lassie!"
----------------------------------------
hopefully, a little humor and a change from tears of sorrow to tears of laughter (hey, I didn't say gasps of horror!) has been added to the NEW day this day is.
---------
since you removed it, I can only imagine how bad it was, but know it was pretty bad to have made you so sad and needing to vent over so many posts.
sorry for the troubles you've had.
hope all gets better TODAY and.......
(ok, everyone join in on the REPRISE -- uh one, and uh two and uh three......)
::we all start singing TOMORROW!::
I can soooo see you doing that, Doug. Thanks for the cue -
TOMORROW, TOMORROW, I LOVE YA, TOMORROW, You're Always A Day Away!!!!!!
Massive applause, standing ovation, audience throws money onstage.
Theresa
Doug you are so funny. Ok I'm changing the song............ tilits head to side, looks at ghastly green curtains, makes clothes for whole family and lines them up on the stairs...... er hum........
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
Brown paper packages tied up with string,
These are a few of my favourite things.
Chorus
When the dog bites, when the bee stings,
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favourite things,
And then I dont feel so bad.
Feel better Kate - you have us singing on the other side of the globe!
Lauren
