Does anyone have a recipe for the white or chocolate or sometimes even pink old fashioned icing that used to be used to adorn cupcakes and pound cakes. It was flat and shiny and hard to the touch but softer underneath. You can even lift it up off the under cake. It must be in the fondant family but I would love to have a proper recipe. It is not buttercream in any way to my understanding.
Thank you
That's just glaze. Thickly poured glaze from the sound of it. You make by mixing powdered sugar and a liquid, usually milk and a splash of vanilla extract. For lemon cakes, I like to use lemon juice as the liquid.
