Lobster Shaped Cake

Greetings everyone - I'm attempting to make a lobster shaped cake. I am using the wilton football shaped pan for the body. Any suggestions for the claws??? icon_smile.gif

I would use a still warm rice krispy treat mixture to shape the claws and cover them with fondant. That would be easier than trying to carve the cake.

I also found this photo on Flickr. The decorator "courtneyscakes" said she used fondant on wires to make the legs and claws and gum paste to make the antennae.

Good luck! That sounds like a fun cake!

Here is a cute one uploaded by SaraClassic. I thought you might want an example of one that uses butter cream frosting.
