What a coincidence, in Sundays newspaper there was a big article entitled Sweets & the City: A cupcake tour of New York by Beth J. Harpaz

Here is the link:

Enjoy your trip.

You must go to Chelsea market and visit the bakeries there. My favorite is Ruthy's. Great cupcakes with gobs and gobs of icing.

For shopping I recommend: NY Cake 56 W 22nd Street, New York, NY 10010 Now two things, first the people who work there can be very rude so pay them no mind. Second, I bought like a TON of stuff there and just had them ship it home to me instead of lugging it all over Manhattan. That worked very well.

Also the Magnolia Bakery is supposed to be AMAZING although I've never been there but I have been to Maury Rubin's City Bakery (around the corner from NY Cake) which is truly incredible and Maury is a dream. He's soooo nice!

Have fun on your trip! icon_biggrin.gif
