I should take some new pics since I've added more shelving and a lot more STUFF that I don't have room for! icon_lol.gif

What I don't like is all of the water sources on the opposite side of the room from the cooking/mixing area. I know it's cheaper to put it all on one side, but sometimes I just don't want to walk "all the way over there!" (uh, it's about 7 steps! icon_redface.gif ) when I need 1/2 cup of water.

I also would have gotten at LEAST a 3-door freezer instead of a 2-door. I've found I need a lot more freezer space than I've got. I'm SO happy to have an 8x10 walk in refrigerator, though. I've yet to fill that baby up (although on a few weekends, I've kinda come close!)

The locations of where the fire extinguishers were installed would be different. They are in just the right (wrong!) spot that prevents me from putting a shelf in both locations. Two perfectly empty walls and not enough space to put more shelving because of those dang extinguishers.

Overall, those are little things and I think my kitchen designer did a great job for me! thumbs_up.gif

thanks guys.

i was hoping to see what some of you in places where home bakeries arn't legal are doing. has anyone set up in a portable building next to their house? i really need to figure out how big it needs to be. i'm having soo much fun planning all this out, hehe ..even down to the cute little retro aprons i'm having monogrammed icon_lol.gif

my husband has one of those big shipping containers that i can use if i want, but i was thinking that would be too big and i know he was planning on using it for his manly shop stuff, lol. i would rahter have something smaller and made from wood not steel so i can decorate it. (i'm spoiled icon_wink.gif ) i have seen some smaller portable buildings for around 2-3,ooo so that's affordable.

another issue is i have little ones so i'm not sure how all that would work out. i was trying to figure out if i should have a small play room on the side or something. it's so frustrating to not be able to bake at home icon_sad.gif or even in a basement, of course txans don't generally have basements, but that would be more convenient than going outside to another building. i do a lot of the work after betime, but i still need to be close by if baby waked up to nurse. hubby is not much help after he's out.

another plus of having a portable building is if our business REALLY kicks off there is the possibility of moving it to a seperate piece of porperty in the middle of town.

Mine is portable--as in, it has wheels under it.....It was originally a "mobile office space".

There is plenty of room in it for me...it is just me and my cakes icon_smile.gif. The kitchen area is about 11'X22' or so--about 242 square feet. I do have an additional pantry that is about 6'X7' or so. Pics, descriptions and costs are on the thread above.

Here's some pics of my front office space. I got the cubicle walls FREE!! from a former employer. They were going to just throw them in the dumpster! icon_surprised.gif Got the L-shaped secretary's desk, and the round conference table w/ 4 chairs from them FREE, too!

OK, I forgot the pics show up in the OPPOSITE order from how they're loaded, so my narrative will make more sense if you start with the bottom pic and move up. icon_redface.gif
