sorry you haven't received any replies.
This is my favorite cake mix and it is my standard cake flavor for birthdays and weddings. Everyone loves the flavor and thinks I have made a home made cake and not used a mix.
Try it--it's really good.

i've never tried doctoring up any cake mix really.
wanted to, but too lazy really. It seems silly to add all the extra stuff when I like the flavor and texture and besides...isn't it just cheaper to buy another cake mix? icon_wink.gif
Sorry, wish I could help you more!

I use the Enhanced Cake Formula which I got here at CC. Here it is in case you can't find it:

1 Cake Mix
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
dash salt

3 large eggs
1 1/3 c. water
1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. melted butter
1 T. vanilla

Mix dry ingredients and set aside. In mixer, combine eggs, water, sour cream and butter. Add dry ingredients and mix well (about 2 min.) Bake at 325 degrees 30-60 minutes depending on pan size.

This is what I use for all of my cakes - and it gets rave reviews!
