Good question ! Definitely something we have to wrestle with when offering the ad free version. Maybe we should offer a setting that allows you to still get certain ads, like for Global Sugar Art or Cake Boss. Things you would definitely want to know about.

Well at the moment, the easiest thing might be to look at a post that has GlobalSugarArt in it. If you notice, in your post, the words turned into a hyperlink. That link includes our affiliate code, so clicking that is the same as clicking on a banner ad.

Also there are still the ads in the email newsletter, so if you are subscribed to that, you will still get the info on any of their sales and you can click through that as well.

Jackie and I will definitely talk about how to make sure ad-free members still see offers they would want to know about, without getting all the third-party ads they hate.

Thanks so much for making the fee OPTIONAL! By leaving the option of not paying anything, you still leave this site open to everyone, which I greatly appreciate!
I used to be a fan of baking911.com, until they went to a membership-only status which cut me off of all recipes and helpful info.
Thank you, Cake Central, for being flexible to fit everyone's needs and preferences. I think this is a great resource, and I also refer other people to it as well. thumbs_up.gif

Just signed up, cleared cache and cookies. Still getting adds on left column. How long after I sign up does it take to change layout of no adds?

I have LOVED having the "no ad" feature but today there are ads - is this happening to everyone? I mean, they are very pleasant ads, Disney, Paula Deen, etc. but still ads. What's up?

Heath told me that they are doing some work on that part of the site and you will be seeing the ads until it is finished.
