I am making a 3-D Abby Cadabby cake of good size @least 12 inches. I need to use something that will support fondant strips for her hair ( they will be in a ponytail, which makes them look like they will be standing up and out every which way.) Also, I need something that it can bend or is flexible yet sturdy enough with out being too heavy for use of her arms and legs, which will likely be RKT. the cake will be covered in fondant and air brushed. Cake or foam head?? I believe in 99% edible cakes so i dont use non food stuffs very often..
This is not a paying cake, it is for my daughter, so i need inexpensive, food safe if all possible materials... i'm a home baker, so I dont have all the fancy power tools and buckets of modeling chocolates and all that good stuff to work with.. BC & fondant, and melty chocolates is what i have to work with as far as ingrediants goes. .. thanks

Modeling chocolate is just your candy melts+ corn syrup--you can make it easy peasy.

Bronwen Webber uses pvc tubes and other plumbing items you get at the plumbing store to make her fabulous sculptures--like for the arms & legs.

(I've never seen one of these characters)

I think if you use a foam head you could just wire the pony tail pieces and stick it into the foam--might be a thought for you.
