Hiya, I am new to this forum and hope the question has not been asked before. I think I searched correctly but could not find the answer to my question.
Now the question is, What type of frosting do they use on Costco Cakes?
I'm in the UK and have only had a Costco cake once, quite a while ago but I remember that it had to be kept refrigerated and was really light and not too sweet.
Once again apologies if this question has already been asked.
This I just found humorous and uplifting (knowing there's a site that supports the everyday works of the chain bakery decorator...and I mean this whole-heartedly!)

This states white buttercream, chocolate buttercream, or cream cheese as choices...

Visions of naked babies with mohawks riding carrots just sprang to mind when I saw that first cake.
Whenever I shopped at my local Costco, the bakery dept. used purchased buttercream frosting in various colors (the overage was stored under the bakery display tables)...
Believe it was from Dawn Foods.... Can't check for you since we've moved and no longer have access to a Costco, except online.

Thanks for your replies one and all, looks like its a buttercream frosting that they use. Just going to have to try out some of your wonderful recipes now!
Does anyone have a recipe for Costco's buttercream frosting and the cream cheese mousse? I have an upcoming graduation and birthday party both in July and I'd love to be able to make this for my friends and family.
Thanks
Hi, i know that use pastry pride and do not sell it. It is like the bettercream at Sams everywhere. Comes in a carton like milk and you whip it. You can google the costcos buttercream and creamcheese and you will see some answers, even here on c/c. there is a c/cer that has one on this site. She says she use to work at costcos and gave us her version of what they made. So just google that and you will see it. I will look for it again also. hth
here is a recipe that is on c/c about costco buttercream, etc.
