Oh no what's next! Check out this website www.cupcakecaps.com. You can actually buy edible caps to go on store bought cup cakes. It says you will be the hit of the party! They have all themes from wedding to baby showers!
That is pretty cool. My question is - are they just sending you the plastic part and then you stamp the fondant? Or are they sending you the stamped fondant and you put it on your cupcake.
If they are sending you the plastic part and you just stamp the fondant (that's really cool).
Thanks for sharing!
They look cute but do we really need to buy them? We can just use impresion mats or some kind of stamp and save a lot of "dough" in our fondant caps, hahaha get it?
It says in their FAQ's that the 'caps' are not made of fondant... What the heck ARE they made of then?
The ingredients look like the ingredients of fondant. http://www.cupcakecaps.com./ingredients.html
I think you can just use fondant and impression mats or even those clear plastic stamps and get the same thing for a lot less.
Hi!
My name is Brooke Brooks and Cupcake Caps are my creation/company.
Admittedly, you guys (and others on this web site) are all so skilled/talented that you're not exactly the target audience (although we're happy to sell to you too - lol). These were created for someone that didn't have the time/skill/tools/inclination to do their own fancy decoration.
I'm a single mom and was originally looking for a solution that could sit on the pantry shelf until I needed them. This is what I came up with.
No - not fondant. If you read the ingredients for most "confectionery" products, you're right... many of them will look quite similar although taste/texture can vary quite greatly depending on how the sugar is prepared.
Happy cupcakes to everyone!
Brooke
The caps ingredients make me think they're more like a homemade marshmallow than fondant.
I think they are a great idea! Its the perfect thing to market to those who don't have "mad decorating skillz" but want to make something nice. The price is really reasonable too.
Lots of luck in the future stillatulsagirl! Looks like your business is pretty successful!
