I have someone that wants me to make them a strawberry pound cake, the kind you buy at walmart? I'm not sure what that is. They said a pound cake with fresh strawberries in the mix and then ice with cool whip and put fresh strawberries on top.
Any one have any recipes for the cake part? Do I just use a regular pound cake recipe then add the strawberries? TIA
I don't have a recipe, but you could add strawberry puree to the batter. I know in the strawberry cake I make you add 1 cup of puree to the mix. Since pound cake batter is so think, I would think that you would have to cut back on liquids somewhere.
I google strawberry pound cake and found several, you may want to try that if our cc'ers can't help.
There are some pound cakes in the recipe section that I saw when I was looking for another recipe that use fruit, I saw one that used blueberries.
Here's a recipe for strawberry cream cheese pound cake:

I was about to link to Bakerella...she featured her strawberry cream cheese pound cake the other day. Turns out her recipe is the one in the Pioneer Woman link.
I would highly recommend Bakerella's recipe! She always finds the best stuff
Thanks CeeTee, I think I will give her recipe a trial run. I checked the pioneer woman's link out but didn't see it was Bakerella's recipe.
