How does this sound?

I've been thinking for some time about a name for my teeny tiny little business that one day will of course be HUGE!

So what I've finally come up with are 2 possibilities. The first is AliCakes, which I know I've heard before, but my mom kinda laughed when I told her, and one of my friends said it conjures images of a dark NYC alley full of garbage cans, stray cats and muggers, I suppose.

The other, which I rather like, is Town Lake Cakes. We are only about a mile from the lake, and the initials TLC lend well to a slogan - something like "Everybody needs a little TLC." I'm just not sure if Town Lake Cakes is catchy enough to be remembered.

What do you guys think?

I like TLC. You may not have to worry about people remembering the whole name if the TLC catches on. Kind of like when we all knew that KFC stood for Kentucky Fried Chicken but nobody ever called it that.

Ali - I think Town Lake Cakes is PERFECT!!!! It rolls off the tongue easily and is definitely memorable, especially when combined with the TLC slogan idea you have! In fact, I think "Everybody needs a little TLC!" is EXACTLY what you should use!!! thumbs_up.gif It's very catchy! Go ahead with it...make up some cards & stuff!! It sounds great! I really love it .... the slogan is very catchy and I am sure people will remember it. It's a great way to brand yourself ... slap that slogan all over town!! And get some magnetic TLC signs for your car icon_biggrin.gif Very creative.

Haha, mgoodyear, you haven't seen Town Lake! icon_biggrin.gif Actually it's pretty, you just can't swim in it.

Thanks everyone for your input! I'm so excited to get some cards printed up. I guess I need to come up with a logo, too.

I like the name TLC. I think that you should definitely consider it for your business. It will definitely catch on!!
