Hello,
Im making a hawaiian shirt cake for like 150 people, i was gunna cut it out of a sheet cake pan, but what size pan should i get?? thanks
How about the 12x18x2 pan. I would make 4 cakes, lay 2 next to each other then stack the other two on top and carve. I hope you can understand what Im mean.
Yea i do, but its for an anniversary, they're having a another cake & then the shirt cake, its kinda gunna be set up like a wedding, wedding cake & grooms, so they dont want two shirts.
I didn't mean 2 shirts. lay the cakes next to each other to make one larger rectangle 18x24. then put 2 more cakes on top to make one 2 layer 18x24 then carve
I made a jersey (not this exact one but another one just like it) out of a 11x15 (3 layers of cake, 2 layers of filling). I just spoke with the client and she said they got about 75 servings of decently sized pieces from it.
Ok so i cant get the picture to attach - check it out in my pics. Its the red Kansas City Chiefs jersey
I wasnt there so i dont know how big she cut them. I would have assumed that there would have been more
I made a nurse's scrub cake (it's in my photos) out of a standard 11x14 sheet pan. I did make it 2 layers thick and carved it. It was just for my family, but we all ate on it for over a week! It easily got 50 large servings. If you used a bigger sheet pan and cut the servings smaller, you could reach your goal no problem!
Are you sure the actual shirt needs to feed 150? Because they are having another cake...so do BOTH cakes need to feed 150 together. If so, then you don't have to make the shirt as big. Otherwise, I would go with cathie's suggestions.
Good luck.
yea she wants the shirt to feed 150, the other cake will also feed 150, she insisted that it feeds 300 ppl cuz thats how many she invited even though theyre all NOT gunna show up...sighhh
Not sure what the second cake is like, but shouldn't it only matter that the two cakes together can serve 300 people? If the shirt cake serves 70-80 and the other cake serves the rest....won't that work? Just a thought
theres only gunna be 2 cakes...the main cake & the hawaiian shirt cake...to feed 300 ppl all together
hey i have a 16x16" square pan i was wondering if i bake that & cut it into the hawaiian shirt, how much do u think that will feed? I will make it abt 3" thick.
