Hi I need help if you can. I am going to make a casltle cake for the towers I am going to use paper t. rolls. but i want to cover it with royal icing let it dry then remove it the rolls what do you think? the cake well be buttercream. next question how do tranport it without it fall? can I put royal icing to hold them in place on the board? thanks for the help sammie
I'm having the same question tumbling around in my mind too. I was thinking of using chocolate and then using some to attach the cones on the top to make the turrets. But I'n not sure about using all RI to make the whole tower part, I would be scared of it breaking.
Good luck in whatever you decide this is my first castle cake and I'm not sure if I want to do another lol.
I think royal Icing would be a little fragile for a tower. I made a castle and used ice cream cones for the towers. Glued two wafer cones end to end and coated them in white candy melts. Used a sugar cone for the turret, also dipped in melted goo and rolled in sprinkles. They traveled pretty well. You can see them in my pix.
Good luck.
