I want to try adding a pudding to a cake mix. I have a cheesecake pudding and a white cake mix. When you add the pudding what else do you need to add or not use? I've never added one before but it just sounded yummy.

When you add a pudding to a cake mix, just add 1 more egg, you will have a denser cake like a pound cake.

I always add pudding to my mixes. This is the basic recipe I use for most of my cakes and they are always moist...Whatever flavor cake mix, I also use 4 eggs, 1 cup of sour cream, 1/2 c oil, 1/2 or 3/4 cup water

Not to sound Dense but what does the sour cream do for the mix. I did try it once in a choco cake. I could taste the sour cream. As much as I love sour cream it was not a taste i enjoyed in cake. UGH icon_sad.gif

Nanny6sap, sour cream added boosts moisture in a cake. It's rare that it could be tasted, so you must have ultra sensitive taste buds. I have; however, made frosting with sour cream before and definitely could taste that and did not like it in frosting.
