I have a request for espresso cake. I have found several recipes... but should it be a light brown cake or a chocolate cake with coffe flavor? Also can you substitute instant coffee for instant espresso???TIAKarrie

If they want espresso I wouldn't do chocolate, unless they specifically requested it.
Add to your yellow cake recipe (2, 8" layers):
2 tablespoons ground espresso (with dry ingr)
2 teaspoons instant espresso dissolved in 2 teaspoons Kahlúa (or coffee) (with wet ingr)
