I was wondering if anybody could explain how you put a full gumpaste flower topper on a wedding cake?

I have done several rose cake toppers, but with them I cut a styrofoam ball in 1/2, cover it with fondant, and stick the roses in it. This gives if a full rounded look without putting anythihng into the cake.

My wedding coming up, has numerous types of lilies, with the main flower the calla lily, as well as other flowers. I want it to look full, but I'm not quite sure how to go about this.

Thanks for your help.

If you are using wired flowers, you can twist the ends of the wires together into a full arrangement that you like and then just set it on the top of the cake, once it is set up on site. I would think you could use the same technique as you do with the roses as well. I also know that some people will make a small gum paste vase that the flowers are coming out of and set that on the top of the cake.

Hope this helps,
