Hi all,

I would like to make a Thomas the Tank cake for my godson's 4th b-day. He is absolutely crazy about him! I have seen the book on Amazon for about $60 but have seen what's in it from her website and don't know that I would make any other cakes in there. Would anyone be willing to share their directions from the book with me????

I have tried the local libraries and even checked the ones where other family memebers live so that they could copy and send, but no luck. I always do his cakes with a lot of inspiration from here but this one is more challengingicon_smile.gif

If anyone can help my e-mail is [email protected]

Thanks,
Amy

I got the book through interlibrary loan. I scanned the pages for the Thomas cake and can email them to you when I am on my home computer.

That's a good idea! I'll have to see if this new library has it! icon_smile.gif

I used the same tutorial the Misscathcart mentioned and I loved it. Very easy to do. Plus, I don't really care for fondant, which is all Debbie Brown does and the above mentioned tutorial used BC. i have a pic in my photos of the one I made. I was very happy with it and I was also surprised at how easy it was.

Thomas the Tank Engine might be a great project for someone to put on YouTube. A lot of us do better with a complete demonstration, rather than just a still picture tutorial.

I'm trying to make the Thomas Cake too.

Does anyone have a copy of the Debbie Brown book version they could send me? I prefer to work in fondant and all versions online seem to prefer butter icing.

My email is [email protected]

Thanks.

Hi! I had a look at the Thomas the Tank tutorial online and it's great! But I'm wondering if anyone has a copy of the instructions from Debbie Brown's book? I prefer working with fondant and want to see if she shows how she went about placing the fondant on the cake and also more info on carving the shape. Thanks so much! My email is [email protected].

I appreciate it!
Shannon

AThese posts amaze me. It's one thing to ask how to do a Thomas cake, but to ask for specific instructions from a book? If you want training by Debbie Brown, it's widely available all over the world. You could pay for overnight shipping on the book. But no one wants to pay, do they? Very, very inappropriate.
