I too am a fan of those store cookies but I can't stand the icing. Thanks for creating this thread! I'm going to keep my eye out for recipes and comments and when one seems right I'll definitely post.

Hi! I have a cheater recipe off a box of cake mix for "cake cookies" that taste better to me than the ones from Walmart. Here it is, if you want to try it:

1 (18.9 oz) box cake mix
1/3 C oil
2 eggs

Combine ingredients, stir until thoroughly moistened. Shape into 1" balls (or as big as you want icon_biggrin.gif ) Place 2" apart and flatten to 1/4" thickness. Bake at 375* for about 8-10 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool a minute before removing from sheet. Frost.

They bake up soft and fluffy, I like that I can make any flavor & quickly. Normally I'm a "from scratch" girl, but these are fast and good- HTH

Mmm. I love cake mix cookies, but I think they are MUCH different than the lofthouse ones. I make lemon cakemix cookies all the time and sprinkle them w/ powdered sugar. Yum yum yum.

The allrecipe's one I posted a few posts up seriously is just like the lofthouse cookies. They have been sitting out a few days and are STILL soft w/ that perfect consistancy.. not too soft.. not too hard, nice and fluffy. Mmmmmm.

What frosting recipe would you use to replicate the Lofthouse Cookie Frosting?
