I have a cake due next weekend where the lady would like a cake for her husband turning 40 and wants some funny saying on the cake.
Something other than "Lordy Lordy, Allan's 40!"

The only specifics about the design is she wants a monkey with a water hose putting out his 40 candles. This theme doesnt have any significance to them, she just thought it would be funny.

She asked me to come up with a saying, and though I've done some searching, I cant come up with anything good. Drawing a blank, really...

If anyone has a suggestion, I'd love to hear it!

Thanks

WTF! icon_biggrin.gif , thats what I thought when she asked for a monkey with a water hose..

I think I'll keep that one in mind for another time, while I think its hilarious, it may not fly with her. I dont know the woman, so it may be too colorful for a cake she's sharing with hubby and kids, ya know!

I'd like a few ideas to run by her before I actually make the cake, no matter what she is gonna have to approve the saying first.

This might be really corny but we came up with: "no monkeying around, 40 is HOT! icon_redface.gif

Forty isn't old...
If you're a tree !

You're just over the hill at forty;
You went down without a fight.
Time rushes on, and soon enough
That "hill" will be out of sight!

You're forty, can I trade you in on two twenties now? icon_lol.gif (I always tell my hubby I am gonna do that!)

40's just a number. A big number, but still...just a number.

Youre not 40, youre eighteen with 22 years experience.

Found these with a quick internet search. Hope that helps! icon_smile.gif

After the "flower puff girls" suggestion I am thinking it was sarcasm resulting from the fact that the customer should know what they want written on the cake and, since they did not, then we should suggest inappropriate things to them. I sincerely hope I am wrong and there is a joke I am missing though because the drama llama seems to be getting awfully tired around these boards here lately and this is an innocent enough question that he shouldn't need to come and visit here as well. Or I could just be PMSing. icon_lol.gif You are welcome to be the judge....if you dare!!!!! Mwah Mwah Mwah (evil laugh) icon_evil.gif

Thanks, there's been some really good ideas so far!

I am with you jimandmollie thumbs_up.gif
I asked for some fresh ideas cause she didnt like the ones I suggested that I found from google searches...
It was an innocent question and I hope some arent just trying to be too clever and mocking, its not necessary

Thanks again, I am gonna compile a list of suggestions to email her tomorrow.
Keep the ideas coming, if you've got any!

I'm pretty sure you are PMSing. I took the words as an abstract form. Puff=cream puff which some-what-how reminds me of old people. Flowers because tombstones remind me of flowers. Call me weird but WHATEVER, it's not like I care. You can get tired of the so called "drama llama" because it's not like everyone asks you for advice.

Oh and one more thing, excuse me if I think differently/odd/weird. You can't really judge me but feel free to do so. This is what I am and I deserve to be respected. I didn't cause any harm by giving her advice of what she wants be be written on the cake.

"Fire warning, use extreme caution"

So thanks to micnmax2003 for the idea!

I really appreciate everyone's help on this!!! thumbs_up.gif

Good luck!
