couple ideas--

 

you can make a scriber by putting a toothpick in a piece of foam that you draw ruler markings onto--

 

or you can use tape register ribbon--like stores print receipts on--

 

get it long enough to go all the way around and you're set--

 

if you get real wide tape then fold it for other ribbons--

 

if it's narrower use more than one peice or measure from one taping to the next--
