I've got to do some cupcakes for my nephew's birthday. I want to display them on a stand and add an 8" single layer cake with a 3-D helicopter on top. I've never done a helicopter and cupcakes are not my thing. They never rise up, when they do, they sink down after they cool some. What in the world am I doing wrong? How do I get that rised cone effect on top, and does anyone have any idea's for decorating them for a helicopter theme. I am also looking for instructions for a 3-D helicopter is anyone can help with that too. PLEASE I need this for Sunday! Thanks so much for any help!

I can't help with the helicopter, but I can help with the baking.

The way that you get the pretty dome is to preheat the oven to 400 F. Then when you stick the cupcakes into the oven, turn it down to 350. This gives the beautiful dome.

Fill the cupcake liner about 2/3rds of the way full. I actually use a cookie scoop and then count the scoops so that all of the cupcakes are the same size.

Don't bake in some foil liners and then some paper liners. The foil causes the cupcake to bake faster. Don't spray the liners with Pam or anything else.

I think that should help you out! Hope you get the helicopter advice you need. They sound adorable!
