I was wondering if anyone had photos of, or suggestions for, a more masculine looking topsy turvy cake. I feel like most of the time they are very feminine but I wanted to try making one and I have a big superhero cake coming up. Anyone?

I"ve seen one (I think on CC) where it was a hill with a motorcycle climbing up the side, like on a hillside trail.

HTH!

I'm looking for a masculine topsy turvy cake, too, for my son's 18th birthday. (When he was little, whenever I asked him what flavor cake he wanted, he'd ask, "The bread part" or the icing?) Now my baby is a man!

I think if you start with masculine colors and leave off the flowers it will work fine for a guy. I did one a couple of years ago using red, white and black. What colors are the super hero?

I've also seen some that are squared, that may be cool too for a guy.

If you're referring to the Transformers cake I completely agree! That was exactly what came to mind and it's great because you could make it fit any theme just by switching out the Transformers logo with something else.

I think I would do maybe a argyle or plaid pattern (search golf cakes) with more earthy tones on square cakes. Or if he is a hunter you can do a camoflauge.
