I am making an anniversary cake a friend's sister. I found a picture of a cake with 3 squares off-set. She also wants a chocolate grooms-type cake.
She has been VERY open about this and is leaving almost everything up to me. She only mentioned that there will be about 30-40 people there so they don't want the cakes too big. With a 3 tiered square and a chocolate grooms cake, I'm LOST about the sizes!! What size pans would I use to get the 3 tiered off-set look without there being way too much cake?? I already figured we'd do a 9" round for the grooms. Any suggestions??
HELP!?

You might want to consider using a dummy cake for a tier.

ok here is an idea we did for a wedding cake we bought single slice cake boxes. Cause we knew there would be way to much cake. AS far as sizes go if you use 10in for the bottom you will have to make your next size a 6 because an 8 will hang off the sides. not sure what size to use on top of the 6 maybe you can talk to her about just doing 2 tiers.
