Fbct-Can I Use Sam's Butt-R-Cream For This?

I normally use Sam's Butt-R-Cream for my cakes. I am going to attempt to do my first FBCT for a cake due Saturday. Will the Sam's Buttercream work for this?

Also, does anyone have any tips for doing a FBCT?

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm not sure I would be using that for anything edible.... sounds like a hemeroid treatment!

Thanks for the help! I have read over the instructions MULTIPLE times & am a little nervous to say the least, hence the reason for my question.

Is the fudge outline a must, or can I just use the colored buttercream?

<3 the hemorrhoid comment btw!! Hehe!

I have done several FBCT and here are some tips I have picked up. If your image has any lettering on it make sure to do a reverse image of it so when you flip it on the cake the lettering isn't backwards. I tape my image down on a smooth surface and then tape wax paper on top of it. Make sure the black icing isn't to thick to do your outlining. After I have done my outlining I stick it in the freezer for a few minutes. Make sure you have all your colors ready when you start. I like to start with the smallest areas first because I have found out they can get smoshed to even smaller sizes when you fill in the large areas. When I get it all done I let it sit for a few minutes and the put a Viva towel on it and smooth it with the foam roller. I don't push hard, but it does help to get rid of the uneven texture on the reverse side. Put it in the freezer for a couple of hours. Make sure the cake is ready to go when you put it on because you have to work really quick when you flip the image onto the cake. If it isn't wanting to come off the wax paper stick the cake and the FBCT back into the freezer. If the cake is chilled it can help to make it come off easier. Hope that helps. I really like doing them and I have been learning the chocolate transfer method which is a bit more forgiving. Have fun.

I just checked mine and it's "But-R-Creme", but with that said it does kinda sound like something you'de use for your babies bottom icon_smile.gif
And yes you can use it for FBCT, I do all the time. The fudge outline is not a must , I never use it but I do mine a little different.
I do a FBCT to completley cover the top of the cake whether it be a sheet cake or a round cake, that way I don't have a random FBCT just stuck on the top of a cake with a rough edge.
I trace the cake pan size I need onto wax paper and then tape that over the design on a large cutting board , I then pipe the design and then the background so it is one huge FBCT, that fits perfectly on the cake.
I do make the outline of the cake about 1/4 smaller because when I smooth it out it pushes the icing out and makes it bigger.
After I've piped the design I let it crust and roll it smooth with a roller (just to make sure the underside is perfectly smooth with no lines or bubbles), and then after it is frozen and I put it on the cake I let it crust again and then re-roll it so all the pipe marks are gone.
