this is my first time using marshmallow or any other fondant and I am trying to lay it over a square cake. I have laid down my layer of buttercream and I am wondering how to apply the fondant so that it doesn't have big ugly seamy thingies on the corners?
Please help me!

I just did a present cake over the weekend. It's really not s hard as it sounds. Just "gentle" pull the fondant and use your hand to "cup" the corner. Don't pull to hard you don't want it to rip just give alittle so you can form it. I'll try to post my cake, last time I tried I didn't have any luck.

Okay, I guess I need to shrink my photo's size, anyone know how to do that?

Ditto to that! Take it slowly and don't rush! Like Vitade noted, start at 1 corner, cupping your hand around it. Then softly pat the fondant on along the side, lifting & adjusting so there are no folds or seams. Work your way to the next corner, gently cupping and adjusting the fondant. . .
do this all around the cake and you should be fine icon_smile.gif

Two little hints. . .

#1 You should use a fondant smoother to light smooth the top of the cake before you start the border thingy. . . just a few quick, yet GENTLE swipes to get any air bubbles out. . .

#2 After you've gone around cupping and attaching the fondant to the sides of the cake, use the Fondant smoother again to smooth out your sides. I was taught to hold it side ways (obviously icon_rolleyes.gif ) and hold it up against the side of the cake, gently indenting the bottom into the fondant and light smoothing it upwards to leave NICE icon_biggrin.gif smooth sides. Once you do this all around the cake, you use your cutter (mine is a pizza cutter) and cut along the indention all around the cake and Wa-la, you're finished!
I hope this made sense. . . Good luck & let us know how it goes icon_smile.gif
