Hello ladies,
My question is How can I get good at baking great cakes and decorating? I want to take this further and probably have my own business one day but I need orientation on how to do it. I took Wilton course 1 2 3 I need to do 4. Ive done a couple of cakes for a b-day party amd sometimes I bake for my daughters school and my work but I feel I need more practice. How can i do this. How did some of you get started? Thank you in advance for your prompt responce to ths matter.
I have no intentions on doing this for a business at all, but I do enjoy baking/decorating. I simply send cakes off to work with my hubby. I just did a baby shower cake and a farewell cake. I've since been asked by his co-workers if I could do a wedding cake, birthday cake for a daughter, anniversary cake, and another birthday cake!
Yikes!!
I say bake, bake, bake! Is there a food bank or soup kitchen in your area that will take home-baked goods? I know that here, a lot of people who are in the classes don't want all that cake hanging around their house, so they drop them off at soup kitchens on their way home. Any churches need cakes for upcoming events, such as recognitions, fund raisers, etc.? Those are always great opportunities to get some extra practice in.
