Boyscout Caramel/choc. Popcorn
Sugar Work By NEWTODECORATING Updated 16 Jan 2007 , 12:38am by sun33082
My uncle is in love with this stuff. He brought me a small bag and ask if it was something I could reproduce for him. It reminds me of hulless popcorn coated like a crackerjack and then dipped into choc. Anyone have any ideas how to do this so the popcorn doesn't shrink and get soggy?
I've ordered this the last two years from my neighbor, and it is delicious! I looked last year for recipes, and couldn't find any that even looked close. I tried a few recipes, and they weren't close. I would love to get my hands on one though...that stuff is expensive!
Here are 2 different recipes I found :
I have not tried either one, but they both sound very good.

You are so welcome. Jacques Torres is awesome!
I didn't even notice the chocolate handbag until you mentioned it. Those are really neat. Please report back on results.

If you like Jacque Torres check out his book Dessert Circus at Home. He also has the popcorn recipe in there as well. Good book for the home cook.
I've made this before. I used my grandma's carmel corn recipe (sorry don't have it on me) and then just melted milk chocolate chips and coated the carmel corn with that.
