Making Gum Paste Flowers First Time And....

The party is Saturday but I need to get started on these as I am a newbie. Should I use gum paste or fondant and how long can I store them and where? Nervous! Thanks!

I'm not super experienced with making flowers. But when I do figures I use fondant and dip it into gumtex to stiffen it up. That way I don't have to make a separate batch of gumpaste. The fondant dipped in gumtex seems to hold it's shape well. I leave them uncovered so they can dry and they should keep for quite a long time. Good luck!
Hi!
I was just about to post another thread about this. No intention of hijacking this thread, however, I would also appreciate any input towards whether you should use gumpaste/fondant for flowers.
My Wilton instructor taught us half and half for roses, but Id like to know if they would come out nearly as well with just fondant. I need to make mine tomorrow.
Thanks!
Gumpaste does give a better neat finish than fondant & also drys up faster than fondant, so personally I prefer to use gumpaste, but then whatever you are comfy with is fine.
